More debate slacking. I might as well just not go to a tournament until States, really. So tired. -.-

No slacking in the realm of mathematics, however. I am taking a national competition test thingy tomorrow morning during first block and homeroom. Amusingly enough, tomorrow was supposed to be the date of the mock trial. Mr. Allen changed it for me, 'cause, y'know, I'm a lawyer. So I'll be waking up my brain tomorrow. I actually enjoyed the contest last year, since I just felt more alive for the rest of the day. God, I'm a geek.

Yes, well, I should be finishing my bio lab now, shouldn't I? Silly me.

Ninja lyric change. Right. Um. I have nothing else to say. Go about your business.

[ o my! 0 comments for me ] . . . ees @ 6:16:00 PM

So I've been moping around. Duh. What do you want from me? In my moping, my mother asked me, "do you miss your sweetie?" (I really dislike that nickname, but that's not the point.) I thought about it for a second, then answered, begrudgingly, "yes."

A brief interruption, while I'm thinking about it: mom just accidentally broke two items in her room. One was a candle she has had for a very long time. Since she got married to my dad. It was a wedding present. The other was a framed picture of me. Talk about ill omens. Gah.

Anyway. The meaning of this entry is, the words "I miss Charlie" just don't seem to cut it for me. I guess, though, that's all it is. I miss him, and it's making me cry at sad songs, and at nothing at all. This is not my usual habit, in case you were unsure of this. I am usually a rather distant individual, truth be told, as my dear Shannon Renee has hinted in her blog. Tell me, darling: were my feelings clear at pre-Snowball? Are they clear to you now?

One thing that's rather important that I may have had trouble expressing with Sir Charles around, with so many people around in general: I love all of you. I love Shannon, Kristina, Katelyn, Colin, Natalie, Sarah, Linda, Kristen, David, Emma, Susan, Greg, and god damn it, the list goes on. I lack the brainpower to remember you all, which I apologize for sincerely. I am a sad little thing right now.

What's next for Erin? Junior prom, February 26th. I'll be in my cheery half-alive state until then. See you in school tomorrow, o devoted local readers.

[ o my! 0 comments for me ] . . . ees @ 5:28:00 PM

Curse you, Sir Charles, for being here less than twenty-four hours.

. . . what else is there to say? o.O I have to start thinking about *homework* now. What the hell, I ask you. What the bloody hell.

I suppose I should do the random snippet thing again. xD

Spectacular Spectacular, the words in a vernacular, how to describe this great event, you'll be dumb with wonderment! It will be with you forever. Mwahaha.

I. . . just. . . DON'T LIKE PEOPLE TOUCHING MY THINGS!!

"Hey, I'd volunteer to strip for Greg anytime."
"I'm flattered."
. . . and other hittings-on of the Greg by the Charlie. xD

Somehow, I beat Shannon at DDR. o.O

Balloon cruelty!

Susan owned Charlie's ass in the sexiness contest. xD Sorry, love. Susan just looks better in the jacket.

Don't tell us to turn down Stairway to Heaven. No, seriously. Don't do it.

Apologies to any who suffered the ill effects of poor cell phone reception. We missed you, Pirate Dan. You too, Veronica. :P

Charlie is now on Curry Innuendo bracelet number three (four counting mine). Don't snap this one, man. Please. xD

And I have a mole now, which Charlie made for me. It will be with me everywhere. I am open to name suggestions for the mole - maybe I could make it a funny hat and call it The Duke or something.

Okay, so it *is* possible after all.

God damn it, I don't have a foot fetish, I just find feet interesting. xD

There may be more such nonsense later. Not now, not now. Although I'll be damned if I know what I'll do now. . . gah.

Mrr. ^.^ Charlie is here, only he isn't here. He is out walking my dog with my dad. Good times were had by hall (or almost all. . .) at the party last night, wheehee. I will never stop mixing Skittles and M&Ms, fools. Rar.

Wow. Today has been amazing so far. Time for some enormously generalized and brief gripings from Erin.

Numer eins: See link to Gaia thread posted below.

Numer zwei: Boys suck.

Numer drei: I love my family so much.

And not a gripe but more of a numb recognition, Charlie will be here in an hour or so. Usually I'd be in happy bouncy mode by now, but today thus far has kind of killed it. ::twitch:: Kinda killed it dead.

I'm cleaning my room. Or rather, I'm starting to clean my room. Or I will right after I blog. (In less than an hour I'm heading off to Colin's, so I doubt I'll get a lot done.)

I am cleaning my room because my dad suggested that I do so in preparation for Charlie's visit. When I heard this, I was confused. Cassie (and probably some other readers who are familiar with my father) will know that the rule in the Sherman house is usually NO BOYS UPSTAIRS RAAAR. I think Dad's just using it as an excuse to get me to clean my room. xD Oh well. I'm doing it anyway, since it's his birthday tomorrow and all. I might as well be a good daughter.

Whee, new results for the D&D test. xD Fitting, since I have a session later today. It's finally happened, kids. I'm not even pretending to be a bard or a ranger anymore, oh no. I am a healer chick. Totally, completely, *ridiculously.* Damn it all.

You Are A:

Chaotic Good Elf Cleric Druid

Alignment:
Chaotic Good characters are independent types with a strong belief in the value of goodness. They have little use for governments and other forces of order, and will generally do their own things, without heed to such groups.

Race:
Elves are the eldest of all races, although they are generally a bit smaller than humans. They are generally well-cultured, artistic, easy-going, and because of their long lives, unconcerned with day-to-day activities that other races frequently concern themselves with. Elves are, effectively, immortal, although they can be killed. After a thousand years or so, they simply pass on to the next plane of existance.

Primary Class:
Clerics are the voices of their God/desses on Earth. They perform the work of their deity, but this doesn't mean that they preach to a congregation all their lives. If their deity needs something done, they will do it, and can call upon that deity's power to accomplish their goals.

Secondary Class:
Druids are a special variety of Cleric who serves the Earth, and can call upon the power in the earth to accomplish their goals. They tend to be somewhat fanatical about defending natural settings.

Intelligent and confident, your reputation as a penguin of stature and prominence proceeds you. Fortunately, you're a natural leader because penguins (and people) will always look to you for guidance in rough seas. Always dressed to impress, you look cool year round. You obviously know that, like the Little Penguin Cabernet Sauvignon, you are only getting better with age.

Take this quiz!

Mrow. Too bad I'm not much of a wine connoisseur. xD I suppose it'd be the ultimate complement to get "shiraz" from an Austrailian wine website, though. Take it, people, I'm curious. >.>

As an afterthought, it's an amusing quiz because you answer a series of questions, mostly about penguins, and end up with something about. . . wine. o.o Weird. xD

Right, so I have this week off. (Duh.) Yesterday I went out to brunch with my dad. Whenever we go out to eat, I doodle on napkins. It's a habit I've had since I was very little. So he asked me to draw something, but I was feeling very uninspired, so after a little while we just started playing hangman. Dad went first with the following set of spaces:

_ _ _ _ (space) _ _ _ _ _ (space) _ _ _ _ _ _ _ ;

_ _ _ _ _ _ _ (space) _ _ _ _ _ (space) _ _ _ _.

I was like, WTF, a semicolon in hangman? Well, whatever. I did what every good little hangman player does first, which is guess "e." The spaces were filled in thusly:

E _ _ _ (space) _ _ _ E _ (space) _ _ _ _ _ _ E ;

_ _ _ _ _ _ E (space) _ _ _ E _ (space) E _ _ _.

I guessed it immediately after E.

Can you? xD

Good luck to everyone taking exams today, and to Susan with her audition. It's probably a little late for good luck, anyway, since all of these things are in progress or over with completely. Oh well. I hope you all did well. xD And I apologize profusely for not having any exams this week. I kind of wish I did, actually, since I'm going to be *incredibly* bored just sitting around for four days. o.O Ah well, I have a good book to read and a more or less endless supply of video games. I'll try to make a point of occupying myself with them at the later hours, so as not to distract exam-takers from their precious sleep. *hem* Yeah. Enough said.

Faerieblue Satu: yes.
Faerieblue Satu: want something? xD
JulyJem717: Yeah... I was wondering if you could burn me that CD, please. I'll bring you a blank CD tomorrow.
Faerieblue Satu: yesh.
Faerieblue Satu: you want all of it, or just a few songs?
JulyJem717: And if you could put this song on it too that'd be cool. :-P It sounds really good.
Faerieblue Satu: 'cause I could make a crazy SHANNONMIX!
JulyJem717: lol
JulyJem717: All of it would be nice. =)
Faerieblue Satu: h'okay.
JulyJem717: Is there a way you can do it tonight and give it to me tomorrow when we go to Starbuck's?
Faerieblue Satu: yeah, sure.
JulyJem717: I promise to have the CD tomorrow. :3nod:
Faerieblue Satu: I hope I have a CD. xD

Faerieblue Satu: xD Susan gave me Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy.
Faerieblue Satu: and I'm all like WOOOOT.
JulyJem717: Yes, I have.
JulyJem717: And that song rocks my socks. Hard. :3nod:
Faerieblue Satu: We stand today in the face of a fascinating case, that circulating around the death of Lennie Small. It is true that George Milton, the defendant, purposefully aimed a gun at the back of Mr. Small’s head and fired once, inducing a quick and painless death. While the letter of the law might dictate that Mr. Milton be declared guilty of manslaughter in the first degree or a similar sentence, some aspects of this case are so unique and complex that they have not been explicitly written into law; that, or the issues within the case are a matter of controversy to this day, and the legality of a particular action has not yet been decisively determined. Possible defenses in this case are many in number. Collectively, the mentions of euthanasia, emotional disturbance, and other complications of this case are enough to acquit George Milton of all charges against him.
Faerieblue Satu: yes. xD
JulyJem717: Rawr. What was that for?
Faerieblue Satu: xD it's the introductory paragraph of my legal brief.
Faerieblue Satu: I am George's defense attorney in the mock trial.
JulyJem717: Ah... I see.
Faerieblue Satu: which is fzcking impossible. xD
Faerieblue Satu: mm kudos. xD
JulyJem717: xD

"It's good. You'll never be senile." ~my mother's reaction to my curried rice pilaf

[ o my! 0 comments for me ] . . . ees @ 11:11:00 PM

Whee, it's the blizzard of '05!

I usually dislike snow, especially on weekends, when it serves no purpose. This snow, however, is quite different. It's so dry (due to the exceptional coldness) that it doesn't melt easily. So even on the roads, in the snowbanks, it is imperturbably, immaculately white, and it shimmers. It's like the big guy upstairs is dusting the Northeast with mica. Prettiful. :)

In other news: the show itself wasn't that great, since it was, by and large, a lot of amateurs. Fun was had by all, however. There were SO MANY pretty dresses on that stage that I want. So bad. xD There was one awesome red and black lambada-style dress that I wanted to steal for Susan. Either that or this gorgeous yellow dress. O.O God. Not fair. I want them.

Anyway, yeah, that was my day. xD Woke up late, haven't eaten much, so I'm going to make mom teach me how to cook rice pilaf (which is excellent with copious amounts of curry power thrown in, mmm).

[ o my! 0 comments for me ] . . . ees @ 11:00:00 PM

Well, shit.

Okay, guys. It's looking pretty likely at this point that not only is counter-Snowball a brilliant idea; it is absolutely necessary, for the sake of my continued sanity, that it come to pass. And now I'll tell you why.

Charlie happens to have a previous engagement on the evening of the fifth. Unless he wriggles out of it somehow, which I kind of wish he wouldn't do anyway, he *cannot* come to Snowball. But he can come to counter-Snowball, which would probably be way more fun in any case. Here are my thoughts on this affair.

1: Natalie, I will love you forever if you will talk your mother into hosting it. I will help. My mother will help. Charlie will help in his pretty operatic voice, if need be. It'd be the timeframe of an ordinary dance, 8-11 on Saturday, January 29th. I would help you guys with preparations in any way possible; gods know I'm not doing anything over Regents Week.

2: If Nat can't do it, I'm open to other suggestions as to the venue. If no viable suggestions come, I'll host the damn thing myself, in my little red brick house on the hill by the water past the treeline near the. . . right, anyway, you all know where I live. If this happens, I will probably require someone to bring a functional CD player/boombox/whatever, since the one in my livingroom is extremely temperamental.

3: Anyone who's available and interested in participating in counter-Snowball should come to a PLANNING MEETING! at Starbucks, after school on Monday. Since it's the beginning of good ol' midterm week, I'd think most of you would have some time to kill. I fully expect Charlie's most avid fans to be there. And Natalie, too, if she's actually interested in hosting. xD

4: Please call/PM/IM me if you see this and tell me if you're coming to the planning meeting. I will probably be calling certain persons and harassing them if I do not get some RSVPings by Sunday.

5: Can you tell this means a lot to me yet? xD I'm actually getting my ass in gear. Isn't it amazing? You know you want to help Erin with something so important. Ooooh yeah.

Dibs.

Mother dear just reminded me of the facepaint incident earlier today. So I shall write about it.

Daddy dearest got all of his girls, wife and daughters both, tons of makeup for Christmas. Anyone who reads my blog ought to know by now that I am not really a makeup person. Nevertheless, I was amazingly bored last night, and so I was playing with the stuff. I never got it out of my system when I was little, I guess. o.O

Anyway, I told a few people I was doing so, and they demanded pictures (since they'd never get to see it otherwise). I, in turn, told my mom, who suggested I wear it to school the next day. So I did. I made a point of keeping a very geeky getup otherwise (including my DMs don't kill players shirt), since, y'know, I value irony as a device of comedy. No one commented on that, which was the biggest disappointment of the day. Not that I was really disappointed be the reactions I received, just. . . I dunno. It was a learning experience.

Colin and J.P. were the ones to greet me as I walked into the media center, which I suppose is one reason why things went the way they did. J.P. greeted me first, then Colin, and after a moment he realized I was wearing lip gloss and kind of flipped out. J.P. joined him shortly thereafter. I felt kind of like I was being assaulted. o.O

So. . . on the off chance that they read this. Why does it matter that I wore makeup today? Why does it matter why? Do I change as a person when I put on eyeshadow? You say you were just surprised, but. . . I'm glad I could shock you out of placing me in a little pidgeonhole labeled "never wears makeup." For people so counterculture, it seems like you don't mind doing that. Categorizing people. But you do it all the time; I guess we all do. I guess we can't help it.

What irks me even more are words said to me later, by a different person. It wouldn't really be right to talk about that here, I suppose. I don't want my honor defended, not against friends. Friends are allowed to be honest, even if it hurts.

In any case. That was makeup. I hope you all enjoy seeing my "natural beauty" again on Monday.

It is high time for some updates on the life of one Erin Sherman as it exists in the past, present and future.

Past: I have been extraordinarily tired and lazy and bored lately. That is the long and short of it. Particular recent events of interest include, most importantly, my course selections for next year. Much to my delight, an online health course is being offered next year, which I will take instead of health class. This leaves my schedule gloriously, happily free. So I am taking pretty much everything I want to, unless a conflict arises, in which case there may be changes in electives and suchlike. Here is the lineup:

Math 4 H (open enrollment, bitch! xD)
Chemistry H
German IV H
Latin III
AP US History
AP English 11
Advanced Studio in Art (honors)
Midi Tech 2

And hey, if there aren't any cumbersome schedule conflicts I'll even have lunch. xD Amazing. Online Health is happiness.

Right, so. Present: Today I wore makeup to school, which went over interestingly, but not well. More on that later, maybe. In other news, it's the weekend. Thank God.

Future: We have school on Monday and Monday alone next week. I have no exams and no work to make up. Colin has the Math A on Thursday, though, so I might go chill with him. Now, the really important bit:

Snowball is *not* a week from this Saturday. It is *two* weeks from this Saturday.

I have thought about putting together a counter-Snowball or something, since the dance itself tends to suck, but my organizational skills really, really aren't up to that. Neither is. . . any part of me, really. o.O If anyone would be willing to take my idea and run with it, I'd love them forever. Hint hint, nudge nudge, say n'more. (NATALIE. o.o Your house would rock for counter-Snowball. xD) I was actually thinking that it would be best placed when Snowball *should* be, on the 29th, instead of the actual date of Snowball, so, y'know, we could still be losers at the dance itself. Hey, y'know. . . it's a tradition. Don't look at me like that. o.o. . .

Does this make me a good APist or a bad APist? o.O I know it makes me a terrible Latin student, since I have a vocabulary quiz tomorrow which I have not studied for at all.

On that note, I'm going to go stop sucking now! How exciting.

Wow, I'm pathetic. o.O I woke up at 11, with my alarm (*yes,* I had an alarm set for such a late hour), then proceeded to read 1984 and exist in a state of half-sleep until, oh, three. I am really kind of disgusted with myself. xD

le~edit: . . . but Charlie is more pathetic than I am, because *he* was playing Pokemon Blue instead of reading 1984, and followed the same sleep pattern as me otherwise. xD He is playing through the game powered chiefly by a level 87 Nidoking named Arsenic at age sixteen, and *that*, my friends, is pathetic. (Lovably so.)

This quote amuses me so much that I cannot not post it. xD

"My sister Veronica and I did this double act, and my husband Charlie used to travel around with us. Now, for the last number in our act, we did twenty acrobatic tricks in a row, one, two, three, four, five, splits, spread-eagles, backflips, flipflops, one right after another. Well, this one night, we were in Cicero, the three of us, sitting up in a hotel room, boozing and having a few laughs, and we ran out ice so I went out to get some. I come back, open the door, there's Veronica and Charlie, doing number seventeen, the spread-eagle! Well, I was in such a state of shock I completely blacked out. I can't remember a thing! It wasn't until later, when I was washing the blood off my hands, I even knew they were dead!"

Cookies if you know where that's from. Hopefully all of you get cookies for that. o.O

I had a very weird dream last night. o.O But then, at least I had a dream period. My nights have been very boring lately, without them.

It involved me going to a crazy camp! Kind of like the one sort-of depicted in Joan of Arcadia - kids with mild mental issues go there to resolve them. It was very strange. I was in a room with another girl and a boy, both of which were permanently masked. I think I was, too. They weren't the sorts of masks meant as muzzles or something, they just intended to obscure the identities of the wearers.

That, in itself, was pretty unusual. Then the dream continued to science class at school, presumably in the fall; Graham Bowman was there, which makes no sense at all since I think he's in chemistry now. o.O Anyway, he was, and he looked eerily familiar in a way which was not just Graham-ish, so I said: "you went to crazy camp with me." I remember my intonation, in the dream; that kind of chirpy, half-serious sounding tone which tends to start very serious conversations. Cautious. And he just nodded and said yes; he looked tired.

And that was my dream. o.O Or, at least, what I remember of it. Freud would have a field day, I'm sure.

I have seriously had the most unremarkable past week or so *ever.* I suppose its ridiculous levels of normalness make it abnormal, in a way. But things happen which shake up the normalness - not always good things, but who ever wanted a dull, "just okay" life anyway?

Half day tomorrow, upon which I may or may not go Snowball-shopping with the beautiful Susan Wilson, who is Snowball Date Numer Zwei. Weekend's looking fun as well, with a dungeon session on Saturday, yay. :)

Today was pretty unremarkable. That, in itself, could conceivably be my blog entry. One remarkable bit, however, is that the French Revolution essay is not due until Thursday - yay! That means Erin gets to slack off for a little longer. (I haven't actually started the essay yet, as I type at 9:00 the day before it was originally due.)

Lately I have been feeling. . . lonely, for lack of a better word. o.O There probably is a better word, actually, but I am incapable of finding it right now. "I can't think 'cause I'm just way too tired. . . is this it?" Good song for my mood in the past week or so, that is. I am in need of snuggliness which is really quite hard to come by in this town. I think, were I in Binghamton, I would be suffocated with a downy comforter of love - at least, relatively speaking. Here I am rather chilly, because there is no comforter at all.

Erin is sad when she is cold.

During that time slot I watched a novice round, and was like, whoa, was I this novice-ish once? o.O

So anyway, good times were had by all. People were amazed by my iPod, which I brought along to remedy boredom - one of the kids from Shen said it was beautiful. xD Slight of build, Indian or Pakistani kid, pretty nerdy-looking, but it was still kinda cool/interesting/weird/funny/whateverthehell.

Right, so I'm back in school. o.O It's the same as ever. Only, only, I am sad. There is no Latin III H. So if I continue Latin next year, I will be taking "Latin III," which has no distinction between H and R. Distressing. -.-

Which kind of brings me to the point of this entry. I am a silly human being and am not sure what I should pick for electives next year, so I am asking for input. I get three of them, one of them (and possibly two or all three if I am on crack, which I am not) being a language. So, the options are:

Latin III
German IV H
Advanced Studio in Art (honors or AP if I am especially wonderful)
Midi Tech II (music composition, arrangement and theory)
Ladies' First (all-girls choir)

I must have at least one of the languages and at least one of the artsy courses. I am actually not sure if I will be able to stand a life without a visual art class, and my slow but steady drift from music is really very irksome. So help me! O.O Please.

Late on the eve of the first school day in the New Year, I would like to make a toast: may you know how to love deeply and truly, and if you do not know, may you learn; may your passion never fade, through distance or through time; may neither fog nor static nor ill will cloud the knowledge that you feel this adoration for another, as you were meant to, as you will until the end of your days.

Cheers, happy New Year, and sweet dreams to you all.

Taking after Veronica who has oh-so-recently taken after me, I must post some "new years' resolutions." I put it in quotes because they end up meaning very little, in the long run. It's amusing, however, to see where my priorities lie.

1. Get Matt, no more fooling around. (If you don't know, don't ask.)

2. Stop participating in Gaia and other completely useless forum/gaming websites. This will hopefully assist in the third resolution. . .

3. Quit procrastinating/slacking off/just sucking at school.

4. Become less of a weakling.

5. Think of more useful resolutions for next year.

[ o my! 0 comments for me ] . . . ees @ 3:06:00 PM

Oddly enough, the song Striptease by Hawksley Workman makes me feel much better. xD So catchy, and so bad for my spiritual health.

I just came back from Mitchell's party, which was fun. xD We got Mitchell the GF Bahamut (who we named Muhammadt! with a T, 'cause I'm a loser) in FFVIII, at long last. . . . right, that being said, I don't really feel very wahoo at all. Tiny little flaws - the kinds of quirks in the grand scheme of things that cause violet eyes, blue diamonds, and pretty voices.

Blasted pretty voices. . .
