I have a new computer. It's a shiny eMac with 80 gigs of hard drive space and 512 megs of RAM. And it might drive me crazy. (I hope it won't.)
School starts next Wednesday. Damn. I don't think I'll actually be able to wrap my mind around that fact until Wednesday morning when I'm waiting for the bus in the dark, falling asleep.
My notebook appears to have disappeared, which is definitely not good! :P There were still a lot of pages I could have blogged. Like, a lot a lot. Hrmph. Oh well. It'll turn up sometime.
I'm almost done reading A Separate Peace, having just started looking for little bits of allegorical-ness and having found two fairly obvious ones. Only one of these is a really good one, though, and I'm bound to have to write something about the allegorical-ness so hell. I'll keep that in mind.

I also (finally) saw Pirates of the Caribbean, which I may have been much more capable of enjoying if I hadn't spent three weeks hanging around Gus Spelman first. Instead of thinking that Gus was acting like Captain Jack Sparrow, I kept on seeing Gus in the movie in Sparrow's place. ::shivers:: Needless to say, he didn't make a very good replacement. Another CTY buddy, Dan, has had a similar problem with the movie. God save us, if it is right that he should do so.

Saw Yael again. I wish she were on my hall but alas! She is not. We have decided that we must find time to kidnap both Charlie and Stephen. I'm not certain she's entirely aware of just how much I would love to do so.
Sleepy. . . for obvious reasons. Luckily I shall be more than capable of getting into a decent sleep schedule while here. I hope I like my class/instructor/TA/male classmates. ::breathes:: . . . for if I don't I may go hide in Yael's room and stay there forevermore.
Whee! My roommate gave me tooth-rotting purple stuff. Yum.

My best friend Shannon turns 14 today and her party is tomorrow. I got her one nice thing and one crazy thing. They are now badly wrapped. Naturally.
Whee, so year, Center for Talented Youth (or Congregation of Tapdancing Yaks) starts Sunday. Today is Thursday. I must back. Blearg.

So. A little about myself.
(Again, writing in a moving vehicle.)
I'm writing two (very) different works of fiction at the moment. One of them is an impossible faerie tale of vampires, phoenixes and other flights of fantasy.
The other is much more real. It's set in the not-too-distant future, and is comprised of my (modified) life story and a dream I had. It sort of reminds me of The Giver in that it brings into question something sacred: memories.
I'm currently on my way to a Yankees game. Oh thrill, right?

Mmhmm. So, I just bought this notebook and I thought I'd write a mission statement.
The point of this notebook is to release excess creativity I accumulate during the three weeks of CTY this summer, the year 2003.
A reader may find within poetry, bad drawings, random fragments of thought, and maybe pieces of creative storywriting.
I am writing this while in the car. Usually my cursive isn't quite this bad. Just so you know.
So, without further ado. . .

I am so friggin' ALIVE right now!! I didn't die at CTY, oh no, I most certainly did not. . . and now I am back to my ordinary life, and my sweet, lovely, beautiful computer. Oh Ralph, I missed you so!
(Psst. Don't tell Ralph, but I'm thinking of replacing him with something more technologically advanced.)
A lot of stuff happened at CTY. What a concept, eh? Three weeks worth of stuff. I wrote some of it down in a notebook, and I'm going to put some of it (I will edit at my discretion. . . you never know what Erin writes in a notebook) on this blog, starting with the mission statement in the next entry.
