First of all I agree with you. And second of all here's an ironic tidbit of unrelated news that makes me think: What is society coming to.... You know the song Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer, and you know how in the end of the song it says that "you'll go down in history... like George Washington, or Einstein depending on what you were taught... well now schools are teaching the young ones "like Barack Obama" and my response to that was "what has he done? Why does he deserve to replace George or Albert"

Anyway I found it a little funny and also kind of disturbing (brainwashing comes to mind)....
 

I don't think he, through what he's done in office, has been as revolutionary as Einstein or Washington, but he certainly represents an ideal that many Americans would like to believe is coming to fruition: that our country really does treat all men (and women, and etc.) as created equal. Not that it actually does, of course, but it comforts people to believe it, and Obama's a great symbol of it.
 

Also, if maintaining the tax cuts helps the economy recover, maybe this will have been worthwhile - especially if he can stay in office long enough to get rid of them for good. Fingers crossed.
